Allen Price was engaged to prepare a Development Application for a change of use from commercial premises to a health services facility located in Berry. Additionally, alterations and additions were proposed to reconfigure the internal layout of the building to better suit the new physiotherapy practice.
Throughout the project, we worked closely with the architect, client, and other stakeholders to ensure the proposed design aligned with Shoalhaven Council’s planning controls including the heritage status of Berry. The building’s external appearance was carefully considered to preserve the town’s historic charm, ensuring that any alterations were sympathetic to the heritage character of the area. Our team managed the necessary heritage assessments and worked proactively with council officers to address any concerns during the approval process.
Approval for the project was successfully obtained in mid-2023, following rigorous review and consultation. The new health services facility, now fully operational, provides much-needed physiotherapy services to the local community. The project stands as a testament to our ability to navigate complex regulatory frameworks while meeting the client’s needs and enhancing local infrastructure in a way that respects the area’s heritage and community values.
