Founded in 1948 as TA Dalton, Surveyor, our firm has evolved through several partnerships and name changes.
After Dalton’s departure, Fred partnered with Donald Allen in 1959, and the firm became Mance and Allen.
Peter Price joined in the 1960s, became a Director in 1970, and the name changed to Allen & Price in 1972.
Grahame Scarratt establishes his surveying practice, Scarratt & Associates. Simultaneously, Allen & Price saw continued growth with our move to 164 Junction Street.
By the mid-1970s, the addition of engineer Norman Tucker led to the formation of Allen, Price & Tucker, which later became Allen, Price & Associates after Tucker’s departure.
Steve Thomas takes over operation of Scarratt & Associates, the only owner after Grahame Scarratt to run the firm.
In 1985, Don and Peter established the current office at 75 Plunkett Street. Over the years, other key Directors joined, including Ernie Panucci (1986), Ross Douglas (1993), Tony Aulsebrook (1999), and Matt Philpott (2004).
Cowman & Stoddart is established by Peter Cowman and Colin Stoddart.
Cowman Stoddart is acquired by Stuart Dixon and Stephen Richardson.
Allen & Price expanded further in 2015 with the acquisition of Scarratt & Associates, rebranding to Allen Price & Scarratts (APS).
In 2024, Allen Price & Scarratts merged with Cowman & Stoddart to form Allen Price, uniting a rich history of expertise in surveying, civil engineering, and town planning. This partnership allows us to better meet the diverse needs of our clients, offering services from land release to civil works and everything in between.
