Allen Price was engaged to provide town planning advice for the preparation of a development application for alterations and additions to a dwelling on a site with a sensitive heritage streetscape in Marrickville.
Leveraging the property’s unique corner lot setting, this redevelopment project sought to expand the existing dwelling by adding a new two-storey brick extension to the rear, a single garage, and an alfresco area. The built form of the proposed new dwelling was designed to reinforce the site’s expansive corner lot setting while complementing the architectural form established by existing dwellings in the locality.
Our engagement involved working closely in collaboration with the client, and architect, to prepare a robust DA submission that rigorously addressed local planning requirements and justified the unique attributes of the proposed site redevelopment. The DA was approved in March 2023 and the site is ready for construction to commence.
